MS Soft World built the CricMonster app as a free application supported by advertising, with an optional paid subscription that removes advertising. This page explains what the app collects, what it does not, and the choices you have. By using CricMonster you agree to what is described here.
CricMonster has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and we do not have a database of our users. The information described below is collected automatically by the advertising, analytics and notification services the app uses.
1Information the app collects
Information you give us
None. CricMonster does not require registration and has no login, profile or contact form. If you email us for support, we will have whatever you choose to put in that email, and we use it only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically
Like most mobile apps, CricMonster and the third-party services inside it may automatically receive technical information, including:
- the type and model of your mobile device, and its operating system version;
- your device's advertising identifier;
- your device's IP address, from which an approximate country or region can be inferred;
- app version, language and time-zone settings;
- how the app is used — which screens are opened, and which advertisements are shown or tapped.
This information is used to deliver and measure advertising, to keep the app working correctly, and to understand which parts of the app people use.
Information stored only on your device
The following is kept in your phone's own storage and is never sent to us:
- your chosen theme and language;
- your notification preferences;
- whether you hold an active subscription;
- a cached copy of recently viewed news, matches and predictions, so the app works when you are offline.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
2Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Internet & network state | To load cricket news, match schedules, predictions and advertisements. |
| Advertising ID | Used by Google AdMob to show advertising and to limit how often the same advertisement is repeated. |
| Billing | To offer and verify the optional subscription through Google Play. |
| Notifications | Only if you switch on match reminders or breaking-news alerts. You are asked separately, and you can decline or change it later. |
CricMonster does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location.
3Third-party services
The app uses services from other companies. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data, and we encourage you to read them.
| Service | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Displays banner, native, interstitial and app-open advertisements. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Services & Firebase | Core Android services, and remote configuration that lets us change advertising settings without an app update. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Processes subscription purchases. Payment details are handled entirely by Google — we never see or store your card details. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| OneSignal | Delivers push notifications, if you enable them. | onesignal.com/privacy_policy |
Our own servers receive requests for news articles, match schedules and predictions, plus an anonymous counter of how many times an article has been opened. These requests do not carry your name or any identifier that we can trace back to you.
The app also contains links to partner websites and to our Telegram channel. Once you follow such a link you are on a service we do not operate, and this policy no longer applies.
4Advertising and your choices
Advertising keeps CricMonster free. Advertisements are supplied by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier to show advertisements it considers relevant to you.
You control this:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID — in Android, open Settings → Google → Ads. You can reset the identifier or turn off personalisation entirely, and CricMonster will still work.
- Subscribe — an active CricMonster subscription removes every advertisement from the app.
- Turn off notifications — in the app under Settings, or in your phone's own app settings.
5Subscriptions
CricMonster offers optional subscriptions that remove advertising. Purchases are made and managed entirely through Google Play. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active; we do not receive your payment details. Billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Google Play's terms, and you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time from the Google Play Store.
6Children
CricMonster is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7Fantasy sports disclaimer
CricMonster provides player statistics, news and opinion-based predictions for informational purposes. It is an independent third-party application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Dream11, My11Circle, Howzat, Gamezy or any other fantasy sports platform, nor with the BCCI, ICC or any cricket board.
Fantasy sports may involve financial risk and can be addictive. Please act responsibly and at your own risk. Residents of states where such participation is restricted by law should not use fantasy platforms.
8Data retention and security
We do not maintain user accounts, so there is no personal profile of you for us to retain. Preferences and cached content stay on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Information held by the third-party services listed above is retained according to their own policies.
We take reasonable steps to protect information, and all communication between the app and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9How to stop all collection
You can stop all collection of information by the app by uninstalling it, using the standard uninstall process available on your device or through the Google Play Store.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page and take effect as soon as they appear here. Please review it periodically. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
